Sarkozy's visit Yerevan with Aznavour and Devedjian not coincidental

    October 01, 2011 | 01:28

PARIS. - We are having an Armenian week, says Arnaud Leparmentier in
the blog of French Le Monde.

Nicolas Sarkozy makes a state visit to Armenia on Thursday, Oct. 6,
after receiving President Serzh Sargsyan in Paris. He will be
accompanied by two figures of the Armenian community, singer Charles
Aznavour and Chairman of Hauts-de-Seine Patrick Devedjian.

The latter spared no attacks against the President but they need to
take care of the Armenian community six months before the elections.
The bridges were not muted: Devedjian met with the President before
the summer holidays to speak about Hauts-de-Seine.

The trip to Yerevan, in return, should calm the ardor of calling for
criminalizing denial of Armenian genocide, which is currently stalled
    in the Senate.

"We have to control those who stand for a memorial laws but we will
not go for war with Turkey. Therefore the President travel to
Armenia," said the advisor of French President.

At the meeting in Alfortville on September 26, candidate for
Presidency from the Socialists Francois Hollande, inspired by the
victory of the leftists in the Senate, called on the favorite for the
President of the Senate Jean Pierre Bel to return the bill into the
    agenda.
