The Tehran-based Arax Weekly reported today that St. Amenaprkich
Monastery in Nor Jugha (New Djulfa) has been robbed. The security
forces of Iran have detained a group of Armenians.

According to rumors, 5 suspects have been detained, more reliable
sources note 2 detainees, one of them female. According to the same
source, the suspects have been released on a bail of 85 thousand
    U.S. dollars.

There is no news on whether Interpol has been applied for to arrest
those who will sell the museum exhibits. It is not known whether the
Armenian Diocesan Council of Esfahan has taken any steps.

As of today, it is not known whether the things stolen from the museum
of the monastery have been found. However, the icons have not been
taken away from the country, only the robbers have inquired in London
about the value of their "trophy".

The Diocesan Council has not published any official information about
the arrests and continues to keep silent.
