EU REPRESENTATIVE FOR SOUTH CAUCASUS TO MAKE NEW PROPOSALS ON KARABAKH

BAKU. - Germany and European Union (EU) are interested in resolution
of the Karabakh conflict, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Herbert
Quelle on Monday told Trend News Agency of Azerbaijan. In his words,
long-term resolution of the Karabakh conflict is possible solely with
assistance by the international community.
"We have always supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. At
the same time, we must accept the fact of the existence of OSCE
[Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe] Minsk Group
format of talks. No one wants to breach that format," the Ambassador
stated.
He also expressed confidence that Philippe Lefort, the new EU Special
Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia,
would soon make new proposals on Nagorno-Karabakh.
