Speaker Nabih Berri and his Armenian counterpart, Hovik Abrhamyan,
on Monday stressed the importance of bilateral ties as well as
"enhancing relations" between the two countries.
"The political relations between Lebanon and Armenia are strong and
firm," Berri said during his official visit to the country.
However, he called for "boosting bilateral economic cooperation,"
and suggested to form a "parliamentarian quartet commission that aims
to enhance those ties," the National News Agency reported.
The Armenian speaker said in turn that the ties with Lebanon must
"be deepened in all fields."
"The Armenian citizens in Lebanon are faithful to the government and
are contributing to its [empowerment]," Abrhamyan added.
Berri arrived in Armenia earlier in the day for a three-day official
visit
