Yerevan/Mediamax/. Romania's Ambassador to Armenia Krina Prunariu said
today that Romania is trying to maintain the balance in its relations
with Armenia and Azerbaijan despite its interests in the energy sphere.

The Ambassador said this speaking at the press conference held in
the NATO Information Center in Yerevan today, Mediamax reports.

Krina Prunariu noted that Romania attaches a special importance to
the issues of ensuring its energy security and in this respect; it has
more developed economic relations with Azerbaijan than with Armenia.

"But from the political viewpoint, we strive to maintain a balance
in our relations with the two countries', said Krina Prunariu.

The Ambassador added that Romania is extremely interested in
establishing stability in Caucasus and in the Black Sea region.

As for the human rights situation in Azerbaijan, Krina Prunariu noted
that "the European Union and Council of Europe don't turn a blind eye
to the current problems in any country due to their interests in the
    energy sphere".
