INDEPENDENCE OF ARTSAKH MARKED IN CANADA

On September 24, Robert Avetisyan, representative of NKR to Canada,
attended a celebration of the 15th anniversary of the local Armenian
Club of Toronto. Avetisyan congratulated the organization with the
anniversary and expressed hope that the Club members would continue
promoting the Armenian heritage and education, Office of NKR in
Canada reports.
On September 25, Artsakh's envoy visited the Toronto Armenian Center
and met with local activists of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun to discuss
the recent development around the Karabakh settlement, and the areas
of cooperation.
Later the same day, Robert Avetisyan attended the celebration of the
20th anniversary of Armenia's and Artsakh's Independence. Armenian
Ambassador to Canada Armen Yeganyan, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan,
Father Meghrig Parikian, Father Yeghia Kirijian and hundreds of
community members representing some 23 local Armenian attended
the event. In his speech, Robert Avetisyan touched upon Artsakh's
achievements for the past 20 years, and emphasized the importance
of solidarity over the Artsakh-related issues. Other speakers of
the event included Ambassador Armen Yeganyan, and leaders of the
Armenian-Canadian community.
On September 26, Representative Avetisyan and Ambassador Yeganyan
visited local Armenian schools and Toronto-based Armenian churches,
including two Armenian Apostolic Churches, Armenian Evangelical Church,
and Armenian Catholic Church.
