An Armenian French Armenian-French Business Club opened at the French
Embassy in Armenia today.
The Armenian-French business-club is a place for meetings particularly
for representatives of the companies with French participation.
The Club aims to advance, support and strengthen the Armenian-French
business cooperation, economic relations and scientific research
exchange between the two countries.
"French businessmen are interested in making investments in Armenia,"
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Henri
Reynaud said, adding that opening of the Club is an evidence of this.
"None of the French Companies regrets having launched activity in
Armenia. Moreover, the existing companies serve as an example for
others," the Ambassador said.
Armenian Minister of Finance Tigran Davtyan also attaches importance
to the establishment of the Armenian-French Business Club. "France
is an important trade partner of Armenia and a large investor. We
are glad that the companies with French capital came forth with
this initiative. The Club will work to enhance the Armenian-French
cooperation and promote the French investments," he said.
France is the second investor in Armenian economy after Russia. As
of July 2011 the French investments totaled $695 mln. The number of
Armenian-French companies reaches 150.
