ARAVOT: PRESCOTT MAKES CRITICAL REMARKS ABOUT AZERBAIJAN

Commenting on yesterday's meeting of the Council of Europe
Parliamentary Assembly, the paper says John Prescott voiced critical
remarks about Azerbaijan.
It came after the Azerbaijani delegates participating in the Assembly's
autumn session slammed Armenia for what they considered occupation
and aggression, says the paper.
And it was despite the fact that the person chairing the meeting
asked the participants to demonstrate restraint and focus only on the
topics under discussion (situation with democracy and emigration),
the paper comments.
"It is ridiculous that the Azerbaijanis are teaching us lessons,"
Armen Rustamyan, an Armenian delegate (from ARF-D faction in National
Assembly) attending the session was quoted as telling the Assembly.
"Azerbaijan is not the world's most democratic country. You'd better
use the energy you demonstrate here in your home country," Rustamyan
said addressing the Azeri delegates, says the paper.
