said that work in the framework of the commission proves to be
efficient for the development of bilateral relations and expansion
of cooperation.
The Minister of Finance of Kuwait noted that his country is interested
in investing in different areas of friendly Armenia's economy and on
bilateral level, as well as in the framework of the intergovernmental
commission those possibilities have been discussed thoroughly. "We
have seen that there is a lot of foreign investments in Armenia, and
it is inspiring. We are confident that Armenia's economic strategy is
on the right track, and we are determined to strengthen our bilateral
relations by expanding economic cooperation," Minister Mustafa Jassem
Al-Shamali said.
Among perspective areas for cooperation mentioned were especially
agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, energy, health care and others.
The parties stressed the importance of the signed agreement between
the governments of Armenia and Kuwait on air transportation, which
will create new opportunities to increase the turnover between our
two countries. From the viewpoint of further strengthening bilateral
relations, the parties underscored the decision of the government
of Kuwait to open embassy in Armenia, noting that together with the
Embassy of Armenia in Kuwait establishment over a year ago, the
diplomatic representation of Kuwait in Armenia will considerably
contribute to the establishment of closer relations between the
two countries.
President Serzh Sargsyan noted that since independence Armenia has
been efficiently developing interstate relations with Arab world,
including the Persian Gulf states, which is based on the centuries-long
