French president's "special admiration" for Armenian history
Security in the South Caucasus and the Nagornyy Karabakh conflict
settlement were the main topics of the French president's meeting with
his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan on 7 October.
"Before meeting Sargsyan, the French president visited the memorial to
the so-called genocide and demonstrated special admiration for the
Armenians' invented history. He planted a tree in the garden of the
memorial, lighted candles and wrote 'France never forgets' in the
commemoration book. He went on to voice harsh accusations against
Turkey and said that if Ankara does not recognize the so-called
genocide by the end of 2011, France will take appropriate steps."
