ALFYOROV BECOMES MEMBER OF ARMENIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

Russian Nobel Prize winner Zhores Alfyorov has become an honorary
member of the Armenian Academy of Sciences, news reports said on
Monday.
Earlier in the day, Alfyrov, who is also vice-president of the
Russian Academy of Sciences, met Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan,
who congratulated him on the occasion.
Sargsyan touted the Russian-Armenian strategic partnership, calling
for boosting bilateral scientific and educational collaboration.
He also discussed with Alfyorov the future of present-day science.
