PRESIDENT SERZH SARGSYAN RECEIVED THE NATIONAL HERO OF ARMENIA, WORLD-FAMOUS CHANSONIER CHARLES AZNAVOUR

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the National Hero of Armenia,
world-famous chansonier Charles Aznavour. Present at the meeting were
also the impresario of Aznavour Levon Sayan, French performers Jerome
Revone and Stephan Gateau.
The parties talked about the recent high-level reciprocal visits of the
Presidents of Armenia and France which, in their opinion, are another
proof of a centuries-long Armenian-French friendship. The visits will
give a new impetus to a further strengthening and development of the
bilateral relations.
At the meeting, President Sargsyan handed to Levon Sayan the
Order of Honor which Mr. Sayan was awarded back in 2009 for his
significant contribution to the strengthening and development of the
Armenian-French relations as well as for his lasting pro-Armenian
activities. Jerome Revone and Stephan Gateau were awarded with Movses
Khorenatsi medals. The French performs were awarded high state honors
on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia~Rs independence
for their considerable contribution to the enforcement and development
of the Armenian-French cultural ties.
President Sargsyan congratulated them on receiving high state awards
and used the opportunity provided by the meeting to once again thank
them for their work which was highly appreciated in Armenia and
resulted in receiving the RA state awards.
