    Oct 12 2011

Azerbaijan is building a wall to protect its citizens from Armenian
snipers at the Nagorno-Karabakh contact line, 1news.az reports.

The wall will be 3 meters tall. It is a necessary measure to protect
the population from regular attacks of Armenian snipers. Construction
started from the village of Ortagervend in the Agdamsky District,
where 8-year old Fariz Badalov was killed 7 months ago. Chyragly
Village Municipality head Gabil Abbasov said that 700 meters of wall
    had been built.

This will allow people to return. 24 out of 78 houses were abandoned
    due to sniper attacks.

A tragedy happened near the village of Alibeyli in the Tovuzsky
District on July 14. A girl, Shamaliyeva Aygun Zireddin gyzy, born in
1998, was killed by a bomb. Her mother Shakhmaliyeva Elnara Mammedtagi
gyzy, born in 1979, was injured.

Armenian forces opened fire at the village of Shikhlar in the Agdamsky
District on March 8, 2011. 9-year old Fariz Badalov, born in 2002,
    was shot in the head.
