The next case of violence in the Armenian army we learned about took
place more than one month ago, in the military unit called Internat
in Martakert Region, NKR. The soldier whose name we will not reveal
underwent cruel torture, inhuman treatment, humiliation. The soldier
is currently getting treatment in the hospital of Kanaz in Yerevan. It
was a miracle that he is alive, and one wonders if he will be able
to live with those memories. Does this worry the army leadership?

The soldier's family was informed about the incident only on September
27, when he was already in Armenia, at the hospital of Kanaz. When
his father visited him, the boy was still unconscious. What he saw
    was petrifying.

"My kid was beaten to death, seven beat him, headed by the officer,
my kid was almost dead, unconscious, his face in bruises, ear swollen
and hanging, hands burnt with cigarette..." says the father who is
a veteran of the war in NKR.

The traces of violence are still seen on his body. The right leg is
in wounds, the ear is smashed, the hands are burnt with a cigarette.

The 19-year-old soldier was sent to hospital with "acute psychosis".

In appearance, his state is more or less stable but nobody knows what
is happening in his soul, especially that he was under the influence
of psychotropic medication. The young man remembers that he was beaten
but he did not speak about the reasons.

Although the names of the soldiers who beat him are known, they
are still at large. Already a month has passed and nobody is held
    responsible.

As usual, the ministry of defense has not given any explanation or
clarification for what happened. It is natural that for the military
who uphold secrecy these are usual cases, especially when the victims
are from poor families. The father of the soldier could hardly afford
to visit his son twice during his service.

The statements of the minister of defense that there is no impunity
in the army are empty. Has the minister seen the youth beaten and
tortured? He hasn't seen, those who have seen are his subjects,
to whom the soldier is worth nothing.

A few months ago, the grandfather of another tortured soldier,
Tigran Hambardzumyan asked the Minister of Defense, "What would you
do if your children were killed?" The number of people who ask this
question increases, and it generates hatred for the army.

P.S.: The office of the Human Rights Defender addresses the issue of
the soldier and will inform about the results in a few days.
