INTELLECTUALS TO ISSUE ULTIMATUM TO ARMENIA'S AUTHORITIES - KHOSKI IRAVUNK

The Khoski Iravunk (Freedom of Speech) union condemns the incidents
in the Armenian army.
"We propose that all the Armenian intellectuals, irrespective of their
political views, draft an open letter denouncing the army incidents
as fiercely as possible. The letter must be signed by the Armenian
Ombudsman office staff, Public Council members, members of the Public
Council at the Ministry of Defense, as well as by members of other
organizations. The initiative must unite artists and show business
'stars'. Of important is also the opinion of the young people that say
'We are Armenia'. The old and young citizens must issue an ultimatum
to the authorities. It is unpardonable to remain silent. Indifference
is the greatest evil causing a chain of new offences," the union's
statement says.
