"I think Charles Aznavour's interview is sincere, it's an interview of
a person who is concerned with the problems of his nation. A person who
has done much in favor to his country could have such an interview,"
said Lernik Aleksanyan, a member of Republican faction, referring
to renowned chansonnier Charles Aznavour's recent interview with
"Nouvelle d'Armenie" magazine.
The statesman has said that many officials just don't make sincere
statements to escape from condemnations, but has added that we really
need a sincere statement, speech today.
"Though there was a political assessment, I consider his words as an
Armenian man who was frank and didn't follow any political interests,"
said the official.
Arman Melikyan, former FM of NKR, agreed with the MP's opinion:
"It was made for the Diaspora, for those political forces who exploit
the issue to secure their ongoing activities."
Referring to Nicolas Sarkozy's statement made in Armenia, A. Melikyan
said that the issue of Genocide is a vulnerable point for Turkey,
and Sarkozy followed both interior and foreign targets while making
that kind of statement.
