WATER SUPPLY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IN 20 COMMUNITIES OF ARMENIA COSTING 20 MILLION EURO TO START IN 2012

YEREVAN, October 13. /ARKA/. Water supply improvement program in 20
communities of Armenia costing 20 million euro will start in 2012,
said The Head of State Committee of Water Economy of Armenia Andranik
Andreasyan in the government meeting on Thursday.
"The program is calculated for three years and includes the best
water supply systems in 20 small and medium communities, as well as
construction of water waste cleaning stations in Jermuk and Dilijan",
said Andreasyan.
The program is implemented jointly with European structures which
prepared a single package amounting 20 million euro, of which credit
in the amount of 6.5 million euro is provided by European Bank of
Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a grant in the amount of
7 million euro - by Investment Fund of European Neighborhood.
He said that credit resources will be provided for 15 with three-year
grace period at a rate of EURIBOR+1, which is estimated to date
about 2%.
Armenia will be awarded grant in the amount of 1.7 million euro for
designing and technical control of the program.
"Grant program of the Investment Fund was approved at the beginning of
the year. By the end of the year agreement with European Investment
Bank for the implementation of the program will be signed", said
Andreasyan.
Government of Armenia approved the credit agreement with EBRD for
this program signed on July 14, 2011.
