Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Nearly $28.4 bn will be demanded for Azerbaijan
to rehabilitate territories under occupation of Armenia.
Eldar Ismailov, head of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan (ABA)
and author of book "Conceptual bases of post-conflict restoration of
Azerbaijan's territories", calculations were conducted on a certain
period, in accord with which that amount has been found.
"The restoration work on the territory of Nagorno Garabakh will take
five years. This amount includes primarily costs on rebuilding of the
infrastructure and definition of residential areas," Ismayilov said.
He added that a short version two-year research was published as a
book. The entire report consists of six volumes.
"Azerbaijan has sufficient finances to fund these expenditures. But
here is the question of financing the process not only at the expense
of domestic money but also at the expense of international donors
who have already expressed interest. We've already held discussions
with the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, European Bank
for Reconstruction and Development, and all they are interested in
providing long-term loans for expenditures on restoration of occupied
territories," Ismayilov said.
Association's head also said that the report had been already submitted
to the country's government.
