The First Armenian International Congress On Telemedicine And
EHealth ARMTELEMED: Road to the Future" started in Yerevan yesterday
and will continue until October 16. The congress is organized by
Association of Telemedicine (AATM), jointly with Russian-Armenian
(Slavonic) University (RAU) and Union of Information Technology
Enterprises (UITE), under the auspices of the International Society
for Telemedicine and e-Health (ISfTeH) and the American Telemedicine
Association (ATA). Orange is the general sponsor of the congress.
The use of Information and Communication Technologies is transforming
healthcare delivery to such extent as to allow many speaking of
"Healthcare Revolution". The agenda of the congress will address
questions such as the global experience in this field, its eventual
application in Armenia, challenges and problems of the domain.
Bruno Duthoit, Orange Armenia CEO, said: " It's at the core of our
Group's CSR strategy : make use of our technologies to serve public
interest and utility, including healthcare. We are participating
to this congress not only with financial support, but also with our
international experience. We have invited Patrice Cristofini, one of
the best specialists of e-health, who will have presentations today
and tomorrow and will try to pass our Group's experience acquired in
many countries".
The congress will feature two days of plenary and scientific sessions,
panel discussions and round tables, with keynote presentations by
world-famous experts in telehealth and related technologies, as
well as an educational track (one-day seminar of the International
School of Telemedicine and eHealth), and an exposition of local and
international companies.
The event is a first-of-the-kind in Armenia and in the entire region.
