"ArmAgroForum" first world conference of Armenian farmers kicked off
today within the framework of events dedicated to the 20th anniversary
of Armenia's independence. The conference will be held October 14-16
with the participation of over 40 Diaspora Armenian farmers from
Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Lebanon, Iran, Poland, Latvia, the USA and
France. A delegation of participants has arrived from Nagorno Karabakh
as well.
President Serzh Sargsyan addressed a welcoming speech to the
participants saying that the conference is a good opportunity to
discuss the issues of the sphere existing not only in Armenia but in
the region and the world.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan also stressed the importance of
organization of the conference considering it an important step
directed toward the development of international cooperation in the
agrarian sphere.
Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan noted with delight that for
the first time the Day of Agricultural Worker is being marked on the
state level.
"Going successively through the path of economic reforms, Armenia's
agriculture is moving forward to the development with small but firm
steps. Soon the harvest received from our land will ensure the food
security of the whole country," the minister stressed.
Within the framework of the holiday festive events will be held in
the capital and provinces.
