In his will Henri Saby, friend of the Armenian nation, French humanist
and ex European parliamentarian, who died June 16 2011, asks to bury
him in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Yerkir newspaper reports that part of Saby's remains will be
interred in Yerevan's Pantheon Oct 19, the rest - in Nagorno-Karabakh.
With Saby's death the "Armenian Cause" has lost one of its most ardent
supporters. A European parliamentarian in 1981-1994, Saby was one of
the authors of the European Parliament's Armenian Genocide Resolution
June 18 1987. Even though Saby was not an Armenian, he did all he
could for the benefit of the Armenian nation and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Apr 14 2011 Ambassador of Armenia to France Vigen Chitechyan awarded
Saby the Mkhitar Gosh Medal, an award granted by the Armenian President
to Armenian and foreign political, diplomatic and legal figures for
their services to Armenia.
