PRESIDENT SARGSYAN ATTENDS 2200TH ANNIVERSARY OF ARTASHAT CITY

Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan have visited Ararat region where
he attended the festivities dedicated to the 2200th anniversary of
the foundation of Artashat city - once Armenia's capital.
Sargsyan also participated in the traditionally celebrated annual
Harvest Holiday-2011 where farmers showcase their produces.
Further, Sargsyan got familiarized with the activities aimed at the
renovation of the artificial lake in Artashat city.
Built in 1971 and once one of main attractions of the city, the lake
has now turned into a marsh.
The renovation had started on July 26 this year after Sargsyan's
previous visit to Artashat.
Sargsyan was briefed that the funds necessary for the renovation -
a total of 235 million - have already been allocated - and that the
renovation will be completed according to the timetable.
