ARIEL COHEN EXPECTS THAW IN ARMENIA-ISRAEL RELATIONS
Tert.am
15:18 ~U 15.10.11
Relations between Armenia and Israel are expected to see some thaw,
Ariel Cohen, expert on Post-Soviet countries at the Washington-based
Carnegie Institute has said.
Speaking to a reporter of Armenia's state-run Public TV, Cohen said
that though Israel would spoil its relations with Azerbaijan, he
expects that Tel Aviv and Yerevan will maintain warmer relations.
"Armenia has very good relations with Iran. Israel does not," said
he adding that during the Shah Israel and Iran had good relations.
"Israel is having friendship with Azerbaijan; buys oil. We can also
see that Turkey is exerting pressure on Azerbaijan so that Baku would
limit relations with Israel," explained Cohen.
"Though Israel would not go for deterioration of relations with
Azerbaijan, I expect some thaw between Yerevan and Tel Aviv," said
Ariel Cohen.
