Elnur Aslanov: "Non-fulfillment of the UN Security Council resolutions
proves the existence of double standards in the world policy"
Baku. Victoria Dementieva - APA. "The co-chair countries must not be
indifferent to the aggressive policy of Armenia against Azerbaijan",
head of the political analysis and information support department of
the Presidential Administration Elnur Aslanov said.
The department chief reminded that UN Security Council's four
resolutions on Nagorno Karabakah remained unfulfilled.
"Non-fulfillment of the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council,
the institution with legitimate power, caused a number of questions
and on the other hand, it proves the existence of double standards
in the world policy".
Aslanov said while pursuing this policy and prolonging the
negotiations, Armenia wants to save the status-quo and to achieve the
conflict remains "frozen". "But Azerbaijan's position is that this
status-quo can not continue and Azerbaijani President stated it many
times. The presidents of the co-chair countries and EU officials also
made same statements. Azerbaijan's position is that to establish peace
and stability in the region the world organizations must condemn the
aggressive policy of Armenia and to put pressure on Armenia to force
Yerevan to take more rational and constructive position".
The department chief said Azerbaijan has an opportunity to restore
the territories after their liberation from the occupation. "On the
other hand, Azerbaijan has enough economic and political power to
invest in other countries".
Noting that Azerbaijan became a leading country in the region,
the official of the Presidential Administration said that just the
contrast situation is observed in Armenia. "Economic stagnation and
regression are increasing in Armenia. Yerevan must understand it and
change its policy".
