"TATEV WINGS" ROPE WAY IS ONE YEAR OLD

The first anniversary of "Tatev wings" rope way was marked October 16.
Director of the rope way Tigran Ghazaryan presented to the reporters
the one year activity, the implemented programs. Ghazaryan said
till now the rope way served 70 000 passengers. More than 10% of the
passengers were residents of nearby villages which made use of the
rope way free of charge. The director said last year the interest
toward rope way was big during the holidays and days off during that
time the rope way served 700-800 passengers.
Throughout the exploitation of the rope way everyday the staff and
Swiss specialists conducted detailed technical service of the rope
way. Technical examination was also conducted as a result of which
"Tatev Wings" was recognized technically good and secure.
The director said "Tatev Wings" rope way does not only create good
opportunity for development of tourism but created jobs for the
residents of nearby communities. Today the rope way and the newly
opened cafe-waiting hall have 55 employees who are residents of nearby
villages and Goris.
