On October 4, in Paris, the Organization Mondiale Coiffure (OMC),
announced the winners of its first Individual World Hairdressing
Championship.
Thirty-nine hairdressers participated in the championship.
Rafael Mikaelyan, an Armenian from Sochi, Russia, won an OMC Silver
Medal - his "Violin" proved the second best in the Fantasy Hairstyle.
It is the fourth time that Rafael has taken part in the World
Hairdressing Championship. Last December his "Piano" was the 5th
in Paris.
Rafael studied law and has a bachelor's degree. He was born in
Abkhazia, but he is living in Sochi now.
In an interview with the Yerkramas newspaper, Rafael said he considers
Armenia his homeland. "I want Armenia to set a fashion in beauty and
style for many countries. I think I am making my modest contribution
to the beauty industry in my homeland," Rafael says.
