The letter from the President of the French Republic Nicolas Sarkozy
Mr. Minister,
I would like to express my personal gratitude to you for your
participation in the preparation and in the course of my State visit,
which I had the honor and the pleasure to pay to Armenia on 6-7
October.
I know how much importance you attach to France, where you had served
as Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia for a long period of time,
and acknowledge your exclusive contribution to further strengthening
of friendly relations between our two countries.
The degree of Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor conferred on you,
can be considered as a vivid evidence of France's gratitude for your
exemplary commitment towards/engagement in ensuring that fraternal
friendship between our two countries, as President Sargsyan and myself
had attested in Paris and in Yerevan, did not remain idle words.
You can rest assured that mutual trust that you have promoted in
relations between France and Armenia, in your capacity of Minister of
Foreign Affairs, will undoubtedly serve as a solid basis for
realisation of those perspectives that we had outlined at the meetings
with President Sargsyan in Paris and then in Yerevan, as well as for
implementation of the cooperation agreements reached at your meetings
with Ministers accompanying me during the State visit.
I wish Armenia a peaceful and prosperous future, to which it is
entitled, and that your activities as the head of the Armenian
diplomacy be marked with every success, which it truly deserves.
Please accept, Mr. Minister, the assurances of my high consideration.
