"CINEMA AUTUMN-2011" MAKES OUTSTANDING PROGRESS

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS: "Cinema Autumn-2011" (Kinoashun-2011)
national cinema month will soon wrap up, and we may already state
that this year the program has made outstanding progress. Director of
National Cinema Center of Armenia Gevorg Gevorgyan told Armenpress that
there was activeness especially toward the showings held in provinces,
and the halls were 80-90% full.
First he attached importance to the circumstance, that as a result
of film showings in provinces, a number of governors and mayors have
already assured they will do their best to set up permanently working
cinemas. "This is truly a big achievement," he noted.
To remind, the program launched September 24 at the hall of Goris
State Theater by showing of "The Vana Sea Dawn" film. The program
will wrap up October 28 in Yerevan.
Within the frameworks of the program, Armenian old and new feature,
documentary, animation and children's films are shown in provinces
of Armenia and in Yerevan communities, exclusive materials from film
archives are presented, anniversary soirees , as well as creative
meetings, and book presentations are organized.
"Cinema Autumn 2011" is conducted under the high patronage of RA
President Serzh Sargsyan. National Cinema Center of Armenia is its
organizer. This year "Cinema Autumn 2011" was dedicated to 20th
anniversary of Armenia's independence.
