Some 158 workers at Armenia's Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant have taken
back their resignation letters after meeting Minister of Energy and
Natural resources who vowed to raise their salaries.
Speaking to Tert.am, the protesting workers said they had no idea
how much their salaries would be raised, adding they did not want to
disrupt the plant's operation.
They also said they were told the plant would as of now receive10
million drams (approx. $27,000) in bonuses per month that will be
used for pay raise.
It comes after those workers submitted their resignation letters on
September 20. Pointing at inflation rate, they had warned that they
would quit if their salaries were not raised by 50%.
