"We need to give land to the Church, this is the solution", said
with sarcasm the former Prime Minister of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan
in connection with the recent decision of the government to free
the Church of a number of tax duties and provide it with land and
building territories.
Bagratyan says this step is absolute stupidity. Asked why the Speaker
Abrahamyan disagreed with this step, Bagratyan said that Abrahamyan
is simply more intelligent than Tigran Sargsyan.
Bagratyan was asked whether anyone saw the balance of the Church.
According to him, the fact that the Church is gradually taking all
the resources can bring about tragic consequences. He added that once
England, Sweden and other countries understood this fact that took
away the lands from the Church.
