Aliaga, 25 October: Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the foundation-laying
ceremony of the Star Refinery and Heydar Aliyev Technical High School
in the western province of Izmir on Tuesday [25 October].
Speaking at the ceremony, Erdogan said that they invited all countries
of the world to conduct a joint struggle against terror.
Every country that tolerates terrorists should understand that they
may be targeted by terrorists themselves one day, Erdogan said.
The whole world should understand that terror not only hits our
security forces and civilians but the conscience of the humanity,
Erdogan stressed.
Turkey and Azerbaijan desire nothing but peace, tranquillity,
stability and welfare in the region. We wish to see solidarity in
the whole region, Erdogan said.
We are 'two states and one nation' as well as a 'single heart' with
Azerbaijan. As such, until the (Armenian) occupation of Karabakh
ends, we will continue to be with Azerbaijan shoulder to shoulder,
Erdogan said.
We are always grateful to Azerbaijan in their support to Turkey in
counter-terrorism, Erdogan also said.
Erdogan said that Turkey was grateful to Azerbaijan for extending
a helping hand to the Turkish nation in the first hours following
Sunday's devastating earthquake in the eastern province of Van.
"Today, we perform the foundation-laying ceremony of the Star Refinery

gets completed by the year 2015, it will provide employment to one
thousand people," Erdogan said.
"Today, we also perform the foundation-laying ceremony for the
Heydar Aliyev Technical High School that will provide education to
720 students," Erdogan also said.
