GRIGOL VASHADZE: "IF GEORGIA'S PARTICIPATION, MEDIATION OR ANY OTHER HELP IS DEMANDED FOR THE SETTLEMENT OF NAGORNO KARABAKH CONFLICT, WE ARE READY"

    APA, Azerbaijan
    Oct 26 2011

"South Caucasus is an integrated organism and all of the three
independent countries must understand that we are all in the same boat"

Baku. Victoria Dementieva - APA. "It is necessary to save any format of
negotiations. Any negotiation is better than open or frozen conflict",
Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze said commenting on the
settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, APA reports. He showed
still ineffective Georgian-Russian negotiations in Geneva, which have
been held since 2009, as an example. "These negotiations are in the
level what they had in 2009. Russia refuses to recognize itself as
a conflicting party, to fulfill ceasefire agreement, to discuss the
issues of stability and security in Georgia, to create conditions
for returning refugees to their home. Despite that Georgia will do
its best to save the Geneva format of the negotiations. I consider
that it also concerns the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan
    mediated by the Minsk Group".

Vashadze said that if it is necessary Georgia can offer its help and
mediation in the conflict solution. "South Caucasus is an integrated
organism and it can not be divided. All of the three independent
countries must understand that we are all in the same boat and
our sovereignties are tied unbreakably. If Georgia's participation,
mediation or any other help is demanded for the settlement of Nagorno
    Karabakh conflict, we are ready".

Minister said any solution must be based on the basic principles of
    the international law.
