MOLDOVA ACKNOWLEDGES SALE OF ARMS TO ARMENIA AND APOLOGIZES TO AZERBAIJAN

During a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev at the Warsaw Eastern
Partnership summit, Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat apologized to
the president of Azerbaijan for the sale of arms to Armenia, 1news.az
reports, referring to the ambassador of Moldova to Azerbaijan, Igor
Bodiu. The diplomat said that Moldova sold weapons worth $3 million
to Armenia and called this "a wrong political move."
Bodiu added that there are no international sanctions prohibiting the
sale of arms to Armenia, and stressed that Azerbaijan and Moldova
have strong relations, which he hopes will not be influenced by
the incident.
