President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Mayor of Paris, President
of the International Association of Francophone Mayors Bertrand
Delanoe.
At the beginning of the meeting President Sargsyan congratulated
Bertrand Delanoe on the organization and chairing the annual session of
the General Assembly of the International Association of Francophone
Mayors. The President of the Republic noted that Armenia was happy to
host this important international gathering which has brought together
a large number of the mayor of the francophone capitals of the world
and added that it demonstrates the importance which Armenia attaches
to the intercultural dialogue as well as development of economic and
cultural ties with the francophone states.
The Mayor of Paris, President of the International Association of
Francophone Mayors Bertrand Delanoe expressed gratitude for the warm
welcome and the opportunity to conduct the session of the General
Assembly in Yerevan.
Speaking about the Armenian-French relations, the parties noted that
particularly during the last month the high level reciprocal visits
and events organized in their framework have further strengthened
already very close relations between the two states. Now it can be
stated optimistically and confidently that cooperation between Armenia
and France will continue to develop in that spirit.
