BUSINESSMEN IN PARLIAMENT: TO BE OR NOT TO BE?

With its ineffective policy the government has driven local businessmen
into a deadlock. Today our businessmen face a serious dilemma -
to continue their business in Armenia or outside the country, says
    ARF-Dashnaktsutyun MP Artsvik Minasyan.

"The government's objective is to perform the budget, which
implies surplus incomes. As a rule the government puts the burden on
medium-sized and small businesses which become easily controlled by
individual subjects. Similar policy is incorrect and condemnable,"
    said Minasyan.

The ARF-Dashnaktsutyun MP also condemned Yerevan Mayor's decision to
dismantle advertising panels in the city center and interfere with
    the activity of local businessmen.

"The mayor is a good manager but he is not a good politician. I think
that the relations between communities, private sector and state should
be specified in favour of employers and business owners," he added.

Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) MP Vardan Bostanjyan says the government
should help entrepreneurs develop their business in their homeland.

"The government should gradually eliminate all obstacles that hinder
    businessmen," said Bostanjyan.

Regarding the dismantling of advertisement hoardings, he said,
"Our capital requires new approaches and the measures taken by the
municipality are aimed at beautifying the city. One needn't get
offended or make a fuss over the dismantling of hoardings," he said.

Freelance MP Samvel Alexanyan refused to answer our questions.

"Please, hide your tools. I am not engaged in business," he said
meaning the dictaphone and video camera.
