FILARET BERKIAN: ARMENIA MAY COMBAT CHALLENGES OF VIOLENCE SPHERE

The decisions adopted by the Armenian Government, the worked out
procedures give serious impetus to strengthening the fighting against
violence in Armenia, deputy labor and social affairs minister Filaret
Berikyan said at the discussion dedicated to fighting against family
violence in Armenia organized on the initiative of the USAID. He said
Armenia may confront the challenges of the violence sphere.
Pointing out the creation of inter-state commission on gender fighting
created with the decision of the RA Prime Minister March 30, 2010. He
said the goal of the commission is to increase the efficiency of
implementation of events directed toward prevention of gender violence,
collection of information, exchange mechanisms as well as working out
"Against Gender Violence" program.
"During the past 2 years serious work has been carried out in the
sphere," the deputy minister said.
