'TURKIC NATIONS SHOULD BE UNITED BY COMMON NATIONAL VALUES'
news.az, Azerbaijan
Oct 28 2011
'Azerbaijan faced occupation of its lands since first days of its
independence.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to raise world awareness about
this in a proper way'.
The statement came from head of the public and political department
at the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov in
his address to the II Media Forum of Turkic-speaking Countries and
Communities that opened in Baku on Friday.
He said with regret that Turkic nations seem helpless before a handful
of Armenians.
'We share common national, moral values and roots. We should unite
based on this. We should take joint efforts to popularize our interests
worldwide. They discredit Islam across the world today. They attribute
terrorism to Islam, seek to discredit it and put nations against
their national and moral values. Unfortunately, some of our local
media outlets make similar efforts. Turkic-speaking nations should
not remain indifferent to this.'
