AZERBAIJAN SHOULD BE THANKFUL TO NAGORNO KARABAKH FOR ITS INDEPENDENCE, DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF ARMENIAN NATIONAL ARCHIVE STATES

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Modern Azerbaijan should be thankful towards
Karabakh movement for its independence as it accelerated the process
of the USSR collapse.
Deputy Director of the Armenian National Archive Edgar Hovhannisyan
stated this today, Mediamax reports.
According to him, Azerbaijan didn~Rt even think of declaring
independence and supported the USSR preservation back in 90-s.
In his turn, political scientist Sergey Minasyan, Deputy Director of
the Caucasus Institute, stated that today Nagorno Karabakh Republic
with its all attributes is a more established state that a number of
the UN countries.
Sergey Minasyan said that the legal basis for the NKR independence
declaration is much firmer than the basis of a number of other states
which have recently been declared independent.
