September 03, 2011 | 23:35
GYUMRI. - Arevik Davtyan's family of three people from Gyumri lives in
the flower shop. The family cooks, eats, sleeps and washes clothes in
the same small place, 22-year-old Arevik told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
She was born after the 1988 earthquake, lived in a mobile home, got
married and grows her children in a mobile home. She is not even able
to send her child to kindergarten.
Her husband does not have a job. The only monthly income amounts to
AMD 6000 ($18). The young family has no means to survive. If they had
opportunity they would have gone to abroad. Authorities remember about
them only from election to election, without understanding that the
base of the state is young families.
