GEORGIA NOT TO DISPUTE WITH ARMENIA AS KARABAKH OBSERVED ABKHAZIA ELECTIONS

TBILISI. - Georgian FM does not consider participation of
Nagorno-Karabakh in the Abkhazian presidential elections as a position
of the official Yerevan, Georgian deputy FM Nino Kalandadze said.
"We are well aware of the Armenian position, which supports the
sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Georgia. Armenia does
not recognize the legitimacy of the elections held in Abkhazia,"
Kalandaze said, Georgian media quotes.
Abkhazian presidential elections were held on August 26. Alexander
Ankwab won by 54.86%. Russian President Dmitri Medvedev on August
27 congratulated Ankwab for 'decisive victory' in the presidential
elections.
Nagorno-Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan congratulated Ankwab and
expressed hope for 'not only preserving accumulated positive trend
but also moving to a new competent level.'
NATO and EU do not recognize elections in Abkhazia.
