YEREVAN. - We can say there is no marketing in Armenia; sales are
developed here, but marketing is not developed, and there is lot work
to do in Armenia in that sense, Kotler Impact company's director Fahim
Kibria said to news reporters during a discussion held today entitled
"Key Modern-Day Issues of Armenian Marketing."
"There are sales in Armenia, but there is no market research;
we can say this market is virgin territory and many things can be
done. But the Caucasus market, and specifically Armenia's market,
is interesting for [Kotler Impact's founder] Philip Kotler, and
he plans on seriously engaging in Armenia's market. He wishes
to frequently visit here, at least once a year, and to allow the
marketing specialists of neighboring countries the opportunity to
train here, too," Kibria stated, adding that, at the invitation of
Armenian Marketing Association, Philip Kotler will visit Armenia in
November to hold several seminars for state officials, businessmen,
marketing specialists, and students.
Kibria also informed that, until 2012, Kotler and his team will work
solely with Armenia, they will study the domestic market and publish
textbooks, which will include successful Armenian companies.
Marketing legend Philip Kotler will pay a 4-day visit to Armenia during
which he will also conduct the official opening of the Excellence
Center for marketing development, which he aims to turn into a leading
regional education complex.
