MORE THAN 70 POLITICAL PRISONERS IN AZERBAIJAN

More than 70 political prisoners currently serve their time in the
prisons of Azerbaijan, according to the Alliance for Protection of
Political Freedoms.
The Azerbaijani news agency Turan has quoted a coordinator of the
organization, Anar Mamedli, as saying that 11 opposition activists,
including non-partisans and members of the opposition Popular Front
and Musavat parties, have been detained recently.
"We are currently clarifying their number. But according to
preliminary, there are now more than 70 political prisoners,"
Mamedi said.
