Yerevan/Mediamax/. Turkish President Abdullah Gul stated that
"normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia as well
as between Turkey and Armenia shouldn't be considered as a separate
process. It should be considered on an all-regional basis".
The Turkish President arrived in Russia today to participate in the
World Political Forum in Yaroslavl, Mediamax reports.
Abdullah Gul said in his interview to "Moskovskiy Komsomolets"
newspaper that "the Nagorno Karabakh issue is currently the major
hindrance in achieving favorable climate in the Southern Caucasus"
and "Turkey's opinion on this issue coincides with the viewpoint of
the Russian Federation".
"We are ready to fully support searching of the settlement of the
issue which is being resolved by the Russian President's personal
participation as well as to make all the necessary efforts for further
settlement of the conflict", noted the Turkish President.
Abdullah Gul stressed that the progress achieved on this path will
undoubtedly have a positive impact on Turkish-Armenian relations.
"This is Turkey's stance on normalization of relations with Armenia.
We frankly want the successful completion of the normalization
process. Normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia as
well as Turkish-Armenian relations shouldn't be regarded as separate
processes within the process of creating stable peace in the Southern
Caucasus and establishing cooperation and ensuring welfare in the
countries and regions outside its territory. It should be considered
on an all-regional basis", stated Abdullah Gul.
The Armenian-Turkish Protocols on normalization and development of
bilateral relations signed 2 year before in Zurich don't mention
normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Mediamax
notes.
