MEETING IN THE NA STANDING COMMITTEE ON HEALTH CARE, MATERNITY AND CHILDHOOD

On September 7 the NA Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity
and Childhood organized a meeting with the representatives of the
civil society. The deputies Mkrtich Minasyan, Karen Avagyan, Anahit
Bakhsyan and Robert Hagan, the Director of the project Healthcare
System Strengthening in Armenia attended the meeting.
The goal of the meeting was to hear the proposals and the concerns
of the NGOs on the laws being passed in the sphere of the healthcare.
The Committee Chairman Ara Babloyan emphasized such discussions with
respect to improving the legislation and expressed hope that such
initiatives would be continuous.
Robert Hagan, the Director of the project Healthcare System
Strengthening in Armenia, also greeted those present. According to
him, the health is the responsibility of the family, community and
the state.
The representatives of the NGO touched upon the provisions of the RA
draft law On Healthcare and made a number of proposals on regulating
the sphere. They related the bills "On Making Amendments and Addenda
to the RA Law On Human's Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights,"
"On Amending the RA draft law On Restrictions of the Sale, Consumption
and Use of the Tobacco," and "On Amending the RA Law On Psychiatric
Aid" and "On Human Blood and Donating of Its Components and Blood
Transfusion Medical Aid."
