launched today in Yerevan organized by the Education and Science
Ministry. Welcoming the guests, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said
the conference will contribute to the development of Bologna process.

"It is a great honor for me to receive all the participants of the
conference and it is a great honor for me to co-chair the Bologna
process together with Poland", the prime minister said, adding that
the special symbol of conduction of the conference in Yerevan is the
    20th anniversary of Armenia's independence.

Tigran Sargsyan said the educational system is one of the priorities
of the government. "We have stated that we see the future of Armenia
only in creation of knowledge-based economy and formation of the
knowledge-based society", Tigran Sargsyan said, noting that it may
be acquired by having contemporary universities. The prime minister
said our vision coincides with the developments taking place in Europe.

"During the 20 years of independence the transformation of the highest
education system has passed a long path having formed best educational
traditions but at the same time we need progress and reforms", Armen
Ashotyan, education and science minister said, noting that Armenia
has financing issues. Highly assessing the reforms in the sphere,
the minister said that the high-quality higher education is both
    public goodness and business.

Polish ambassador to Armenia Zdzislaw Raczynski said his function
is to promote Bologna process. "Even the highest ideas are born from
small actions. Your actions promote not only development of education
system but the formation of united Europe", the ambassador said.

    in July 1 2011 till December 31.
