PanARMENIAN.Net - Individual approach should be shown to each draftee
at draft.
"Army begins with draft, and we are not pleased with the situation
where draftees do not receive individual approach," Hrayr Karapetyan,
Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and
Internal Affairs, ARF Dashnaktsutyun deputy told a press conference
in Yerevan. Karapetyan emphasized that cases of drafting sick people
must be excluded. He also struck the note that special approach on
placement of draftees in military units must be invested, particularly
considering their education. He noted that such elements are already
emerging, namely regarding doctors, programmers, physicist, however
such an approach must be enhanced.
Here Karapetyan said that legislative amendments regulating draft
and military service are being planned. He particularly noted that
granting furlough to soldiers will be regulated by legislation. "It is
not up to commanders subjective decision whether to grant a furlough
to a soldier after 6 months," Karapetyan noted. He also mentioned
that this autumn saw the adoption of a range of statutes regulating
military service in separate spheres. The General Statute on armed
forces is planned to be discussed in autumn.
