19 year-old Hayk Lazarian, the soldier who died on September 7 while
serving at an Askeran military post, was laid to rest today in the
village of Amberd.
Hayk's relatives told Hetq that they would leave no stone unturned
to expose the true reason for the young soldier's death in Artsakh
since they do not believe the official line.
The Defense Ministry claims that Hayk was killed during an argument
with another conscript soldier, Lendroush Nazloukhyan, who opened
fire on Lazarian.
Relatives claim that 14 bullets were removed from Hayk's body during
the autopsy.
At yesterday's requiem service, a number of army officials were
present.
The Defense Ministry picked up the tab for the funeral.
A criminal case has been launched into the non-combat related killing.
