MONUMENTS TO BE PLACED IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN
The reconstruction works of the Yerevan State Circus will soon launch.
Chief architect of Yerevan Narek Sargsyan said reconstruction of
the square of "Sassuntsi Davit" station is also intended. The chief
architect told reporters that open tender for Garegin Nzhdeh's monument
is announced.
Mantashov's monument will be placed near the former "Children's
World" on Abovian street. The monument to Fridtjof Nansen was
entrusted to sculptor Garegin Davtyan. The monument will be placed
on Moskovyan-Abovyan crossroad in early November.
The jury of the art council of the City Hall will decide who will
make Karen Demirtchyan monument.
Narek Sargsyan said in early October the opening ceremony of Charles
Aznavour house-museum will take place. Hrant Matevosyan's museum is
also expected to be built in Yerevan. Issue on constructing a building
for the State Pantomime Theatre is also in the agenda, the building
may be built on North Avenue.
