EXTRA-REGIONAL FORCES KEEP KARABAKH SETTLEMENT UNDER CONTROL - POLITICIAN

Neither Armenia nor Azerbaijan exercise any control over the Karabakh
conflict settlement, according to a former foreign minister of the
Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Arman Melikyan said that
the process is now under the control of extra-regional forces.
As for a possible renewal of war in Karabakh, the politician found
it unlikely in the coming year.
He noted further that Armenia does not have any foreign policy proposal
regarding this process.
"Unless we have our own initiative, we'll keep facing the situation
we are in. That may be the safest situation for the regime, but never
the most effective for the country," he added.
