Armenian Ambassador to the UAE Vahagn Melikyan had a meeting with
Minister of Economy of the UAE Sultan Bin Sayid Al Mansuri. During
the meeting, a broad range of issues related to the activation of
Armenian-Emirates economic ties, the outline of perspective spheres
for cooperation and the implementation of investment programs was
discussed.
The sides underlined that there is great potential that is not used
in trade, investments and joint economic projects and that it can be
used through joint, consistent efforts. Both sides attached importance
to the spheres of agriculture, information technologies, tourism and
the development of infrastructures for the latter.
The ambassador informed that Armenia already has a center for storing
and transferring agricultural products and expressed certainty that
it would best promote the export of Armenian products to the UAE.
Then, Ambassador Melikyan presented the main directions and challenges
of the Armenian government's policy on investments, as well as
transmitted print materials and DVDs about them.
The sides attached importance to the convening of a session of the
Armenian-Emirates inter-governmental commission, which may become
the best platform for discussing cooperation in the above mentioned
spheres at the professional level, reports the MFA press service.
